Maybe It Won’t Be So Bad?

Maybe It Won't Be So Bad?

Yesterday, Kathleen Hays released an excellent video interview with macroeconomist Mickey Levy, a Visiting Scholar at the Hoover Institution. We recommend the interview for two reasons. First, Levy is a globally respected and experienced professional. Second, he offers scenarios regarding the impact of tariffs and does so with balance and not shrill alarmist warnings. He sets out one scenario where the tariff war outcome may be milder than some (including me) expect.

I have deep respect for Mickey Levy.

Here’s the interview: “Levy: Tariffs Put Fed’s Dual Mandate of Jobs and Inflation on “Collision Course”

Kathleen Hays’ interview with Levy comes as she is covering the Hoover Institution’s celebration of economist John Taylor, the creator of the Taylor rule (“Taylor Rule,” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_rule). The celebration is the occasion for a “special week of monetary policy debate and analysis.” I’d like to thank Kathleen for her coverage of these proceedings.

Please share the interview, and if you are new to the Kotok Report, we invite you to subscribe.
